Thank you Lord!

I never thought that buying a bicycle for my son would create such contrasting feelings. Is this the yin-yang of life? Is it simply my conscience? Is it random guilty feeling? Or is it that God doesn’t want me to forget what his word wants us to do.

Well, whatever you want to call it, the truth is that many faces of little children with much higher needs, like some food, clean water, shelter; flashed in my mind. How many of these children could be fed with the price of this bicycle?

I don’t mean to say that buying a toy for our child is wrong; as you can see we got his bike, he is enjoying it and we are happy about it. Nevertheless I thank God that he makes my heart receptive to his word, thank you Lord!

  2. Gil,

It is nice to meet you and your family!

We are adopting our 9th child - a 12 yr old girl from Ethiopia. We have adopted 6 times in the last 3.5 yrs. I understand every emotion you shared on Shonni' post and this one today!

We rarely buy new toys for our children because in all honestly how much can they possibly play with and is it going to change them for eternity? Runs through our minds!

I was very touched by your post below and agree that our children are so much more sensitive to all the needs of prayer!

    Blessings,
    Jill
