The Last 7 Months

Her second birthday with us, she is four now.  Happy birthday Mekdes!
We've been kind of busy these last few months...then again, looking at some of your blogs I think we could fit twice as many activities in our day.                        The following pictures is just a small peek into some of those events.  With an obvious emphasis in our mission trip to Ethiopia.  Since words don't seem to flow easily from my brain to my typing fingers and knowing that a picture is worth a thousand words...enjoy this long speech.

Another great cook at home.

Carlito & Mekdes love spending time with their best friends.

In November 2011 We had the blessing of participating in a Christian Medical Mission with "Hand of Hope" to Ethiopia. As much as I could tell you about it and even showing you the other 900 pictures from that trip that I didn't upload, I still wouldn't be able to convey the feeling of that experience. Most of my dental team (four total) came on this trip.

My wife and I doing a small dental surgery.

Ethiopia Dental Team!!

This girl stole my heart...miss her!

Well, is midnight as I type this and I'm too sleepy to find the way to rotate these pictures. (If you know the way to do it here please let me know)

Having fun with drugs!

And her name is Lem Lem

Heart-breaking to see these malnourished girls...but happy to see the change after a few hours of them being in the feeding program (sorry no "after" pic)

Praising Jesus!!!

Can we take her home??

Don't look for Waldo!

One of the two births that happen during that time.

Gotta love those faces!!!

We're still here!!

To all our readers, we are still here!  I don't have a valid reason or excuse for having been away from the Blog World for all this time, I know ALL of my followers (all six of you) have been waiting for the new post from the Lopez Family!  So this is only to warn you that I'll be updating my blog within a couple of days from this post.

I hope you have had a great and blessed time for the last few months!

it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.

Wordless update... OK, maybe a few words...

After a wonderful year with our second child, I think we all are getting adjusted very well...
Having fun at Mount Magazine

The girl behind the widow

For some reason she found this very amusing!

Two of my blessings!

She decided to leave home, but after a few yards something stopped her...

Waiting for you...

Waiting for you... still we are!!!
 Another Summer, another Winter
Although we yearn for your presence,
we have learned to abide,
trying to imagine the impossible...
How's it going to be? that day,
Will we see you smile..?
will you be frightened..?
will you cry..?
will we..?
We ask God
these and many more questions
about you..
HE SMILES...
-That's it? a smile?? we say!
Then...
He gives us this...
A BIGGER SMILE!!
finally we say,
THANK YOU LORD!
Our heart feel at peace...

Some of the last events!!

Well, to state the obvious... I'm being a bad Blogger! I'll spare you from reading what you might think are silly excuses; so let's talk about what happening with the Lopez Gang.

Carlito and Mekdes are getting to know each other better everyday; at first it was a little difficult for Lito to accept having to share the love from mom and dad with somebody else but as time goes by their relationship has gotten better, they play together more and fight a little less --they are still brother and sister though--

Last November Mekdes had a chance to visit with her little friend "K" with whom she had spent some time in Ethiopia and now lives about 2 hrs away from us, they are a great family and has been a blessing to know them.  Talking about reunions... in December we went to visit family in California and had a chance to meet with one of the great adoptive families and travel companion that we love so much. They happen to be on vacation in CA as well, so Mekdes and Carlito got to have dinner with their friend Bereket and family! Carlito got to know Bereket during the week that we all spent in Ethiopia and they have established a great bond that we hope will continue for life. It was great visiting with them! We only wish to have the opportunity to spend some time with the other families this year, God willing!

We also did the baby/child dedication for Mekdes at our church, asking God for protection over her and the whole family. It was a very nice event since we have a nice support from our church family.
Oh yeah, also, another dental appointment for Mekdes!
